School Story:
I had a great time at Hillsborough High. Aside from the pervasive racism, favoritism and nepotism that was rampant during that time, my experience at Hillsborough High was a good one and I always look back fondly on the "Dear Old Red and Black" and all the friends I made along the way (even though I lost track of them many years ago). I'll never forget running for prom queen but, by a wierd stroke of fate, not being able to attend the prom (go figure!); or the "brickhouse contest"; or just chillin' in the courtyard while listening to "Off the Wall." But what sticks out in my mind most, as I wax nostalgic, is "Senior Skip Day" when a bunch of us went to Lithia Springs Park and just had the best day ever. Of course, saying goodbye to everyone on the last day of school, realizing that so many of us (if not most of us) would never see each other again in this life, was the most lasting memory of them all, coupled with walking across that stage on graduation day, of course!
